Vintage Shopping in South Florida

For anyone who knows me, they would be able to tell you how obsessed I am with timeless pieces from the past. In other words, vintage!

By living in South Florida for the last three years for my college career, I have scoped out the best vintage shops around (still have a few I need to hit). Below, I have listed the three vintage clothing stores I have been to or shopped from. These vintage shops are located in South Florida only! Hope you find them just as fun & add them to your bucket or “Must do” on vacation list.

The bottom two may be shopped through clicking on the name. Groovy is one-of-a-kind, so if you ever make it down to Palm Beach- Go! go! GO! and mention me, Gabrielle!

  1. Groovy Palm Beach

First and foremost, Groovy Palm Beach is located on Palm Beach Island. This shop is the most special to me because I was their only intern for the Summer of 2015. There, I gained knowledge of certain brands such as “The Lilly”, Emilio Pucci/ Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers, and more. If you are looking for great condition, original “The Lilly” look no further. If you are not a Lilly fan, do not let that discourage you. They also have Pucci, The Vested Gentress, and other novelty brands and items mostly from the 60s-80s era.

As of right now, he only operates as a one brick and mortar shop but plans on launching an online shop in the near future. Closed in the Summer!

2. Miami Vintage

This one is really neat. I can’t remember exactly, but I either discovered them through Instagram or Etsy.com

They have an online store on their own website and on Etsy. I have splurged on a vintage Emilio Pucci 2 piece set, of which I’m going to wear for my graduation in the spring. So excited!!

They have great vintage pieces from Chanel, Hermes, and Pucci. While those are the higher priced items, their lowest priced items start around $35.

3. C. Madeleine’s

My experience here was kind of weird. I have only been once, but if ever given the chance maybe I would stop by again. (I’ve driven past it since, but Miami/ Federal Highway traffic is a headache!) Unlike the other vintage boutiques listed above, this one is much larger; it is a warehouse. Therefore, it’s far much more overwhelming.

They do have a website. However, because it is so big, they don’t nearly have everything available online. They’re famous for their Chanel, Indian Tribal section (wanted shoes, but my feet are too big), and some cool hats. Also, I didn’t discover until the dressing room that they have tons of clothes in the back covered in plastic that are worth looking through. Because I felt so overwhelmed already, by the time I discovered that- I just wanted to try on and get out.

This is not the place for Lilly- more high end designers and typical no-name trends of the vintage era.

I did end up with a dress that still needs work, and a very cool Missoni knit sweater with the cities- Paris, London, and Rome/ and the leaning tower of Pisa.

What’s impressive about C. Madeleine’s is that they are recognized by Vogue.

That’s it for now!

Happy Vintage Shopping
